Recombinant retroviral vector delivered intramuscularly localizes to the site of injection in mice
Two of the main safety considerations associated with the direct administration of recombinant retrovirus are the generation of replication-competent retrovirus in vector-producing cell lines and inadvertent germ-line transduction. In this early publication, we developed and validated a PCR based assay to monitor vector distribution in mice. These data were also submitted to FDA to demonstrate vector safety.
